Gốc Anh Đào

Từ phương nào lưu lạc nơi đây,

Bên hồ xanh rễ bám từng ngày,

Thân trụi lá qua bao giông bão,

Gió lạnh về nụ hé hây hây.

Đất lành chim đậu nhớ quê cha,

Bốn mươi năm bỏ nước xa nhà,

Tóc bạc, da mồi đời lưu lạc,

Nơi gốc đào già nhớ ngày qua.

Cherry Tree

Where are you from, cherry tree?

Your roots anchoring each moment to this lakeside;

Your leaves are gone, stripped by tempests,

Facing the gusty wind, your buds still thrive.

Like a bird on a propitious shore, I miss my fatherland;

Forty years ago, I left my country, my family,

Now with my greying hair, blemished skin, an expatriate life,

You remind me of my old days.
